Graduate School Commencement
My deep appreciation goes to my dissertation co-chair--Dr. Patrick L. Brockett. His patience while
directing each step of my dissertation and his commitment to my completion was beyond all my
expectations. I will attempt to emulate his virtues as an advisor whenever I direct others through the
research process.
I wish to thank Dr. Linda L. Golden for her assistance in investing the time to review my work and
pointing me in the right direction on several occasions. This dissertation benefited greatly from her keen
insights. Further, both of them are also my personal mentor and career counselor and motivator. I consider
them my great friends.
